Assalamualaikum....(",)

Hai Prof. This is what I really think about technology…
First of all, I really think that technology is very important in our daily life as a student as well as the ‘future teacher’. Technology can really help us to save our time and to deal with simple and complicated things in our lives, as we know; time and tide wait for no man. So, by using technology, I believe we can also help our students to manage their time in learning activities later. Thus, in order for the students can be the IT literate, we first of all have to make the first move in gradually mastering the technological world. We have to really immerse in this world so that we’ll become familiar with all these things.
Besides, by using technology in teaching and learning process, we’ll be able to attract their attention throughout the lesson. As we know, young learners have little or a very short time span, so, what can we do in order to keep them awake with our lesson in that one hour lesson??? And of course, technology is the answer. By integrating the use of technology in our teaching and learning process, we’ll be able to pull their attention by exposing them to a new world called technology. This has been proved during our School Experience Programme (SEP) last semester, where my group and I had used a video clip about Fruits and Vegetables (download it from YouTube) and the students were so excited to see the video clip; we can see that they were all smiling and enjoying it. So, can you imagine, it was only a video clip, what about if show them an animation created or edited by us that is specially related with our lesson?; as we know we might not be able to gain the exact things that we want from internet right?
Therefore, I do encourage my friends to enhance our skills in technology advances and do not ever shy to learn from the professionals although we know nothing and we have to learn from A to Z, just be a dynamic novice which is not the stagnant one ok! I do agree with the all the things in the Next Generation Learning. I is very interesting and encouraging article for us as the New and can also be considered as the “Young Learner”. So, I advise the others to spend a little bit of time and do read it!!!!
So, before I end this, I would like to remind myself and all of you that we are going to be teacher, and not all of us are confirmed to be sent to an urban area school, so, do spend some thoughts that we will be teaching in the rural area too. So, do not let the technology halt you from being a flexible teacher, do change and adapt according to the environment and make gradual changes if you have the resources. Lastly, do not let the technology control you, you should control the technology, ok, have a nice day to everyone….(“,)

Dear Azirah,

Well thought out and very motivating. Good idea to invite others to read and reflect on the reality, which you mentioned, be prepared for postings outside of Klang Valley, for not all schools are the same, it is about the teacher's willingness to transform. Happy learning. RM

hi azirah, well i think that it does not matter whether we soon will be posted in rural or urban area.as a teacher itself, it is necessary to equip ourselves with the basic knowledge to integrate technology in our lesso as pupils in the rural area have thier rights too to learn like pupils in the urban area. if the facility in the rural area school is limited, we as a teacher should be creative enough to find other alternative to integrate the technology in our lesson in the future
